Unique open water and marathon swims in support of The Little Fighters Cancer Trust
Extreme swimmers taking the plunge for Childhood Cancer Awareness and raising funds for Children with Cancer in hospital wards across South Africa. An initiative by Carina Bruwer and The Little Fighters Cancer Trust.
LFCT supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families, by offering wide variety of individualized assistance, including provision of food and groceries, transport, clothing, furnishings, bedding, medication, medical equipment and 24 hour emotional support.
South African musician, veteran marathon swimmer and active LFCT supporter Carina Bruwer conceptualised Swim for Hope as a solo effort in 2013. "I'm excited about sharing the opportunity with other talented swimmers this year, and I believe that all our expectations will be exceeded!"
14 seasoned open water swimmers came together for a group attempt of one of the most breathtaking swims in the world. 8km through extreme, rough, cold and shark infested waters to raise funds for The Little Fighters Cancer Trust
Through Bag of Hope, LFCT distributes bags filled with essential provisions to cancer children and their mothers at hospitals in the main Pediatric Oncology treatment centers in the Western Cape and Gauteng.
